Association of Georgian Virtual Zone Persons Participated in the EBA4Women Forum
A representative of the Association of Georgian Virtual Zone Persons attended the EBA4Women Signature Forum, organized by the European Business Association Georgia with the participation of international partners, business leaders, and representatives of the diplomatic community.
The forum took place on March 12 at Pullman Tbilisi Axis Towers, bringing together stakeholders from the private sector, international organizations, academia, and public institutions to discuss women’s economic empowerment and the importance of inclusive business practices for sustainable economic growth.
Opening Remarks and International Perspectives
The event opened with welcome speeches from representatives of the European business community and diplomatic missions, including John Braeckeveldt, President of the European Business Association, alongside representatives of the EU Delegation to Georgia and ambassadors of several European countries.
Speakers emphasized the importance of strengthening women’s participation in economic life, promoting equal opportunities, and fostering workplace environments that support diversity and inclusive leadership.
Recognition of Leadership and Corporate Initiatives
One of the highlights of the forum was the EBA4Women Awarding Ceremony, which recognized outstanding contributions to gender equality and women’s leadership in business.
The awards honored:
Women Leader of the Year — recognizing exceptional female leadership
Male Champion — honoring male leaders actively supporting women’s empowerment
Women Empowering Project of the Year — highlighting impactful corporate initiatives promoting gender equality.
The forum also marked the launch of the EBA Women’s Economic Empowerment Committee, an initiative aimed at strengthening long-term cooperation between companies and promoting inclusive leadership practices across the business community.
Inclusive Growth and Corporate Responsibility
The program included a panel discussion titled “Business Solutions for Inclusive Growth – Care Responsive Workplaces,” presented by UN Women Georgia.
The discussion explored how companies can design work environments that support both professional development and family responsibilities while ensuring equal opportunities for employees at different stages of their careers.
Business leaders from leading organizations operating in Georgia shared practical insights on corporate policies that promote diversity, inclusion, and long-term workforce sustainability.
Supporting Women in Technology
The second part of the forum focused on the role of education and business collaboration in increasing women’s participation in the technology sector.
The discussion took place within the framework of the EU-supported “Women Mentorship in Tech Programmes” initiative, implemented by Business and Technology University (BTU) in cooperation with the European Business Association.
Participants discussed ways to:
encourage girls and young women to engage with technology from an early stage
strengthen collaboration between universities and companies
develop practical digital skills aligned with market needs
expand mentorship opportunities for women entering the tech sector.
These initiatives were highlighted as important tools for addressing the gender gap in technology and supporting the development of a more inclusive innovation ecosystem.
Strengthening Dialogue Within the Business Ecosystem
Events such as the EBA4Women Signature Forum provide an important platform for dialogue between business leaders, policymakers, academic institutions, and international partners.
Participation in such forums allows business associations and companies to exchange experience, monitor emerging trends, and contribute to discussions that support a more inclusive and sustainable business environment in Georgia.
