About Us

The Association of Georgian Virtual Zone Persons was established in February 2022. It is a non-profit organization that unites IT companies registered in Georgia that have been granted Virtual Zone Person status by the relevant state authorities.
Our primary goal is to protect the interests of the Association's partners and ensure transparency in regulating their activities.

Our Objective

 

  • To be the leading voice and the representative of IT sector in cooperation with Government;
  • To support our members and the IT industry as overall;
  • To develop, strengthen and promote the IT industry in the country;
  • To develop the IT export services;
  • To establish the country's IT sector as a leader in the region.
We have created a single information field and centrally collected all the information on the concerns of our partners. Additionally, we are attracting new members to join the Association and actively cooperating with other business associations, private sector, media and authorities.

The activities of the Association are carried out under the leadership of Chairperson Shorena Kopaleishvili, a qualified lawyer with over 15 years of experience not only in civil cases, but also in working with government agencies, in the field of public-private dialog, and with non-governmental organizations.

2022

February-March:
  • Launch of the Association's website and attraction of new members
  • Request on the deficiency in the legislation control of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia
  • Appealing the issued normative acts and annulment of the first methodical reference
  • Publication of information about the problems and activities of the Association in the media, presentations on this topic
April-May: Transfer of accumulated information to the Government of Georgia and legislative initiative.
June-August: Collaboration with the European Business Association, the Office of the Business Ombudsman of Georgia to develop a position on the issue of taxation of the Virtual Zone Persons.
September-December: Submission the legislative initiative to the Parliament of Georgia, coverage of the present situation in the mass media and planned work with the Ministry of Finance of Georgia.




2023

First and second quarters: Work on amendments to thematic legislation in Parliament together with Kreston Georgia and European Business Association.
September-November: Consideration and discussion of the legislative proposal developed and presented by the Association in Parliament, the Ministry of Finance and the Georgian Revenue Service. Actively work to ensure that businesses receive the final position of the regulatory body on changes in legislation.
December: Performance evaluation of the work done, summing up and determining further plans and goals.

2024

The Association's consistent and principled policy led to the creation of a stable environment for the operations of companies. Hundreds of thousands of lari in assessed taxes, fines, and penalties were canceled or significantly reduced.
We will continue advocating for the interests of Virtual Zone companies in the future.

To become a member of the Association - just fill out the feedback form and our representative will contact you as soon as possible.
Although we do not take mandatory contributions from the participants, you can voluntarily contribute funds to support our work. Any amount of donation helps the Association to function, develop and conduct continuous work on the observance of the rule of law by the state.
