IT companies respond to the decision made by the Revenue Service, which requires them to pay the accrued profit tax from 2018 onwards. They believe that the law was interpreted against businesses after 10 years. Two years have passed and the problem is still relevant. The state is not solving this problem.
Speaking to “Forbes Week”, the chairman of the European Business Association says that the decision causes significant damage to the investment environment. The state takes such decisions without informing the business sector, which damages the investment environment of Georgia.
According to the assessment of the Association of Georgian Virtual Zone Persons, each company with the status of a Virtual Zone is under tax pressure. Shorena Kopaleishvili expresses her hope that the existing circle between state agencies will be broken and that the sector will start negotiations with the agency to find ways to solve the problem.
